Structure before screens
We start with your services, audience and existing content. The page plan gives each distinct offering a place, with clear routes from the homepage to the detail a customer needs.
TRADEWORKS / Bespoke websites
Bespoke website design and development for service businesses that need a clearer, more useful digital presence.
Tell us about your projectTHE THINKING
A visitor may arrive knowing exactly what they need, or still trying to understand their options. We plan the content and navigation to support both journeys: explain the service, answer useful questions and make an enquiry easy to find.
THE WORK
We start with your services, audience and existing content. The page plan gives each distinct offering a place, with clear routes from the homepage to the detail a customer needs.
Typography, colour, spacing and layout work together to make information easy to follow. The design is shaped around your brand and content, with responsive layouts for different screen sizes.
HTML, CSS and purposeful JavaScript form the foundation. Navigation, forms and interactive elements are designed to work with keyboard input, with clear labels and visible focus states.
For an existing site, we review the useful pages and web addresses before planning changes. Content migration and redirects are scoped where needed, so replacing the design does not mean overlooking the structure.
BUILDING THE BRIEF
Your current website, a list of services, brand assets and examples of content that must be retained are useful starting points. We agree the page count, functionality, hosting and ongoing editing arrangements in the proposal.
These are areas we can include, not a fixed package. Deliverables, timing and costs are confirmed in your proposal.
USEFUL ANSWERS
Yes. We can use your existing logo, colours and typography as the starting point. If the identity needs refinement, we can scope that separately rather than assume a full rebrand is needed.
We agree how updates will be handled before the build. A hand-coded website does not automatically include a content editor; the editing workflow and any additional functionality need to be part of the scope.
Timing depends on the number of pages, content readiness and functionality. We agree a realistic schedule after reviewing the brief, rather than promise the same turnaround for every website.
